The EU-project MYRIAD-EU aims to enable decision-makers to develop forward-looking disaster risk management pathways that takes into account trade-offs and synergies across sectors, hazards and scales.

Overshooting the Paris Agreement 1.5°C temperature thresholds is a distinct possibility, but what does such temperature overshoots imply for the planning and design of adaptation action? The PROVIDE project will deliver information on overshoot scenarios and expected impacts and their reversibility, covering both sectors and geographical regions. The information will directly feed into adaptation action. 

Increasing heat extremes, reduced summer precipitation and higher rainfall intensities are some of the climate change impacts facing the Western Balkans. To strengthen local researchers’ ability to understand the current and coming changes in climate extremes, CICERO researchers are involved in an EU funded capacity building project with the University of Novi Sad in Serbia.

HEATCOST will quantify health risks attributable to heat and air pollution (with a particular focus on air pollution from wildfires) in main world regions under selected climate scenarios and socioeconomic pathways.

TWEX-Fremtiden i Norge baserer seg på en “historien om framtiden”-metode. Denne metoden kan vise at et scenario tilpasset en bestemt region og bestemte aktører i kombinasjon med en rekke klima- og værmodeller vil kunne gi et mer realistisk bilde av hvordan været vil se ut i fremtiden i akkurat dette området. Med bedre analyser om ekstemvær kan man forebygge og planlegge beredskapen på en bedre måte.

Future food production, and consequently food security, is very sensitive to both climate change and air pollution. So far, little is known about how climate extremes and ozone pollution interact to affect agriculture or about the relative effectiveness of climate change adaptation and ozone regulation measures for various crops and regions.
