Just transition

Climate change represents one of the most complex challenges of our time. Governments worldwide are adopting ambitious goals for net-zero emissions by mid-century. Achieving these goals will, however, require more than individual policy instruments like carbon taxes to deal with multiple goals and interests; they require comprehensive "policy portfolios"- carefully designed combinations of policies to ensure effectiveness, fairness, and public support. 

The goal of FLYWELL is to engage people and organizations in Norway in reducing the environmental impact of air travel. For many people, air travel is linked to quality of life. Travelling for work, leisure, and family is often associated with experiences of relatedness, belonging, physical health, autonomy, and freedom, all identified as human or basic needs in the well-being literature.

In the research project INDGREEN, CICERO will contribute to understanding the relationship between India’s handling of its low-carbon domestic development and its role in international climate negotiations.

The research center Include will generate knowledge about how we can realize a socially just low-emission society through inclusive processes and close collaboration between research and the public, private and voluntary sectors.

The project will meet the urgent need for social science research on flexible electricity policy and technology in Norway.
