NOREGRET: Norway in the European green transition
Norway’s climate target to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and become a low-emissions society by 2050, will require significantly stronger climate and energy policies. In NOREGRET, social and energy scientists are studying how such a transition can be carried out.
Project details
The green transition needs to be carried out in a way that is economically efficient for society and in a way that has broad public support. We will expand the knowledge base for policy-making by studying and identifying policy solutions that are socio-economically efficient, robust, and enjoy a high level of acceptance among the public and industry within the climate and energy landscape. An important dimension for policy-making is the balance between Norway’s shared interests with the EU in the field of climate and energy and our national interests.
