Kristin Thorsrud Teien has worked at CICERO since August 2023. She has previously worked as Research Director at NINA Oslo, a large and interdisciplinary research department that worked with research in topics such as nature and climate, terrestrial and aquatic ecosystem research, geodata, ecosystem accounting, and environmental and land policy and management. She has also previously worked almost 10 years in the Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment, of which several years as department director at various sections and with different areas of responsibility, but with emphasis on biodiversity and environment and climate research policy. She also has experience from NGOs (WWF and Norsk Friluftsliv), from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE), and from teaching and dissemination. Teien is a terrestrial ecologist with education from NTNU and NMBU.

Teien has been a member of the board in the Oslo-based research network CIENS for five years, of which one year as chairman of the board.
