About

Britta Schäfer works on cloud and aerosol modeling.

She holds a PhD from the University of Oslo, titled "Of ice crystals, clouds and climate. Measuring and modeling cold clouds in the Arctic". Her research focuses on cold and warm clouds, their effect on radiation and climate on both regional and global scales, and their interaction with aerosols. She mainly uses numerical weather prediction models like the Weather Research and Forecasting model (WRF), often together with observations (both remote sensing and in-situ), and has earlier worked intensively with lidar observations.

Britta has been a board member of the Norwegian Geophysical Society since 2022.
