The Nordic countries have a long history of a well-functioning and integrated power market, based on mutual trust and cooperation, as well as efficient use of Nordic power resources. With high political ambitions on electrification, green industry and decarbonization of the European power sector, both the Nordic and the European power system are changing. We are expecting increasingly volatile prices that vary with weather conditions. How can we prepare for these changes by building on the good foundation of Nordic cooperation?

Together with NordEnergi, Renewables Norway are publishing a whitepaper that headlines some important measures that could help reduce price volatility and prepare the power market for the changes we are facing with increased power demand and more variable power production in our system. Please join us, either physically or online, as we dive into the important subject of Nordic power cooperation.

Program (full program will be published soon):
The evolution of the Nordic power market, ved Marie Lindberg, senior researcher at CICERO Center for International Climate Research.

About "Strøminar":
Strøminar is a collaborative initiative between CICERO and key stakeholders in the Norwegian power market. Its aim is to contribute to public debate on the development of Norway’s power system, as part of the broader European energy transition toward net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.

Strøminar originates from the research project EVOLVE, funded by the Research Council of Norway, and is a thematic seminar series rooted in research and knowledge.

Partners in Strøminar include CICERO, Elvia, Hydro, Statkraft, Hafslund, Skagerak Energi, and Hydro.

This is the fourth seminar in the series, and the main organiser is Fornybar Norge.
