Why are we allowed to store this information?

The EU General Data Protection Regulation regulates in what cases we may store someone's personal data.

In most cases, CICERO has a legitimate interest in storing personal data. We cannot store personal data if the data subject's interests or fundamental rights and freedoms require the protection of personal data, especially if the data subject is a child.

CICERO sends out newsletters and invitations to subscribers and partners/stakeholders. Most people in our database have asked to receive this information by actively signing up or subscribing to our services. CICERO has a national dissemination mandate given by the Ministry of Climate and Environment in White Paper 34 (2006/2007), and our objective is to inform various target groups on the climate issue.

CICERO has many partners/stakeholders that we need to get in touch with and who expect us to send them information. These are people working on climate change, research and adjacent topics. Thus, a relevant and appropriate relationship has been established between us and our partners/stakeholders.

It is also necessary for CICERO to store information about preferences so that we can offer you relevant knowledge about climate. We store gender and job title information so that we can address you correctly.

Those who receive newsletters and invitations from CICERO have themselves provided their personal data to us. We, therefore, assume that you are interested in receiving this information from us. The personal data is well protected and is not shared outside CICERO.

In some cases where CICERO receives information about you from a third party or for other reasons has no legitimate reason to storing your personal data, we will inform you of this and ask for your consent to storage.

Who has access to my personal data?

All CICERO employees have access to CICERO's contact database (CRM). We do not share this information with others unless you have explicitly allowed us to do so.

How long do we keep your information?

If you subscribe to newsletters or receive invitations, we will keep information about you until you ask us to delete it.

Personal data stored about you as a partner/stakeholder will be deleted if you request it.

You have the right to:

request access to the information stored about you request correction of information that is incorrect request deletion of information request restriction of processing protest that information is processed request the disclosure of information about you to yourself or others withdraw any consents to the processing complaint to the Data Protection Authority in Norway (or equivalent body where the data subject lives or where violations have taken place) on the processing of personal data

If you would like information about the above points – please email personvern@cicero.oslo.no.
